Apple has an app that is included on all iPhones called Health Kit, this app does things like basic fitness tracking to help users be more active. Apple loved this and so did their users but Apple wanted to take things a step further. Today they did exactly that with a new app they are calling Research Kit.
Research Kit was created in collaboration with some of the best medical experts from the top research foundations and universities around the world. This collaboration has brought forth an app that lets users participate in small experiments on their iPhone that will provide research that will be used to better help diagnose and treat people with medical issues such as parkinsons.
Using nothing more than the sensors built into the iPhone users can really help benefit peoples lives and help people in need. Research Kit will be available next month. Oh, and did we mention Research Kit is open source?
