Google’s Chromecast has been one of the most “bang for your buck” devices on the market since it’s release. Since then, the app ecosystem has exploded with compatible apps, the entire experience has improved, and new features have been added. One thing we haven’t seen yet however is a remote. Many users have complained about the lack of a remote control with the Chromecast, however, that’s changing.
Using HDMI-CEC, you know, the same thing that lets the Chromecast turn your TV on, the Chromecast can now accept certain functions from your TV’s remote control. Namely, the play and pause button(s). Only a handful of TVs will actually support this functionality. Most newer, brand name TVs should support it.
