Cortana has been out for quite a while now and in that time it’s become one of the best digital assistants on any platform. It gives you the information you need when you need it and much more. It can already track your flights, but now it has the ability to track your packages.
We’ve known this was coming for a while, but in Cortana on Windows 10, it seems like it’s somewhat functional. Cortana shows the tracking history of an entered tracking number in the app itself rather than on the web. This is different from Windows Phone 8.1 where Cortana makes a Bing search and then pulls up the carrier’s tracking page. It’s likely that once this functionality goes live in it’s entirety Cortana will scan your emails to find these tracking numbers so you don’t have to manually look them up.
This feature might not seem like much, but it could end up being a pretty big deal as Windows 10 hits users who use the platform on multiple devices (i.e. phones, tablets, PC). For now it seems like this will be US only, but that could easily change down the road.
