When you first look at it, the Cheerson CX-10 might not look like much. As small of a drone as it is, this little guy looks like it can barely lift itself off the ground none the less fly around. Looks however can be deceiving.
Disclaimer: I’m not a quadcopter aficionado, I don’t know every little fact about them. My quadcopter reviews are purely from the perspective of a novice.
The Cheerson CX-10 is not small. It’s really, really, small. In fact, this is, at least for now, the smallest quadcopter in the world. It measures in at just 1.65” inches on each side and is under an inch tall. When it’s in the air, it sounds like a bug flying around, and it looks like it too.

Ease Of Flight
The Cheerson CX-10 is actually surprisingly easy to fly. It took me a few minutes to get used to the way it flys, but after a little time I got the hang of it. Flight was fairly stable as well. However you’ll need to keep a handle on how fast you fly it because changing direction while in low or medium mode wasn’t too quick. The controls are a bit touchy which results in flying erratically. I’ll fully admit that I ran into walls, furniture, and more in the two weeks I used the quadcopter.
The Cheerson CX-10 has a 100mAh Li-Po battery. The battery during straight flight last about 6 minutes. Cheerson claims it can get up to 8, but that’s probably under the best possible conditions. The battery charges back up in about 30 minutes when plugged into a computer, but in about 10-15 minutes when plugged into a phone charger. Unfortunately the battery is sealed in which means every time the battery dies you have no choice but to just plug it back in.
The controller on the CX-10 is small, just like the quad itself. It’s got two sticks and two buttons. The sticks work well and double as the speed settings and the trigger for the 360 degree flip but the entire layout of the controller feels very cramped. However the range it provides is pretty solid considering the size of the quad. In my case you might just lose sight of the quad before it goes out of range.
The Cheerson CX-10 is not a very durable quadcopter. The body may take a beating, but the propellers break and bend very, very, easily. I had to replace a couple of the propellers with spares during my time with the quad. I definitely recommend ordering a prop guard and plenty of replacement propellers when you order this quad. You won’t regret it at all.
Overall the CX-10 is a solid little drone. It’s not meant for those of you who want something to fly in the park or even in a big indoor space. It’s meant for those who want something super cheap and super small for flying around the living room. For that purpose, it’s a great little quadcopter that I can highly recommend. That said, I wouldn’t recommend this as your first quadcopter. It’s just a little bit to hard to fly for that honor.
