Tesla cars have recently started becoming the top pick for tech fan’s dream cars. Just recently, the company introduced their new base-level sedan, the Model S 70D. This new car replaces the Model S 60 adding all-wheel drive, a better range, and a slightly higher price.
The 70D adds a second motor at the front of the car and adds a bigger, 70 kWH battery pack. That new battery pack gives the car an estimated range of 240 miles. The new car is also more powerful producing a combined 514 horsepower and can achieve a top speed of 140 mph. 0-60 takes 5.2 seconds.
The 70D also comes with access to Tesla’s Supercharging network as standard. This used to be a premium upgrade (and an expensive one at that). Tesla’s autopilot hardware and keyless entry are also included. The 70D comes in three different, metallic colors: ocean blue, obsidian black, and warm silver.
This new car costs an extra $5,000 over the previous model with prices starting at $75,000. Elon Musk said that the 70D represents a “slight price increase, but a huge value increase.”
The Model S 70D is now up for sale and will start being shipped to customers in late May.
