Google Now on Tap was by far one of the most interesting announcement from Google I/O 2015 which wrapped up last week. The new feature brings contextual awarewess on Android to a whole new level. It will be available in Android M when it eventually launches, but in the developer preview, it won’t.
Google isn’t planning to make Google Now on Tap available during the Android M developer preview, at least not in it’s full capability. David Burke revealed this information and makes it pretty clear that Google Now on Tap is being saved for the full release of Android M.
This news is definitely a disappointment for many fans of the feature who were eager to try it out. Alas, we’ll just have to wait for the full release of Android M which should come within the next few months.
