One of the more exciting software features on the Galaxy S6 is the themeing engine. Within seconds a brand new look and feel can be added to the device. There are already hundreds of themes available on Samsung’s store, but a developer on XDA now has two new ones submitted to Samsung and we’re really excited for them.
These new themes bring a new Material Design feel to the OS designed to resemble Stock Android Lollipop. XDA developer cambunch has announced via his XDA thread that he has submitted both his Material Light and Material Dark themes to Samsung and they have both been approved for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. This means that we could see the themes go live for download at basically anytime. They could show up sometime today, or sometime in the next couple of weeks. The themes cover the notification bar, wallpaper, icons, keyboard, settings, and even some of the stock applications. It should be a nice theme when released.
I’m definitely looking forward to downloading these themes when they become available. Stay tuned as we’ll try to do a hands-on video detailing the theme on the Galaxy S6 on our YouTube channel. Are you excited for these themes? Which will you be using? Let us know in the comments below!
