The Yoga 2 Tablet 13″ sports an awesome design much like the smaller 8″ variant. One side has a “cylindrical hinge” while the other side comes to a fine edge, making for great comfort using the device. While it does take some getting used to, the design feels great in the hands. With the kickstand, you can set it in stand mode to make for video calls or to watch a good movie.
A cool feature that was brought out in the video review was the keyboard. It’s a little flimsy, but it’s still a good accessory if you want to be productive as well.
It also comes with a micro HDMI port for displaying videos and movies on a larger screen if you want to. It’s always nice to have something like that on a tablet, even if you do need an adapter.
Software & Performance
The tablet is a windows tablet. That means two things:
- Not an abundant amount of apps to use
- It acts like a PC
I love the PC aspect and I’ve always loved that in windows tablets. I especially loved it with this tablet, because this tablet does it really well. It’s fast, simple, and enjoyable. While web browsing can be a little laggy, everything else seems to be pretty smooth.
Crisp, clear, vibrant. The display is very big at 13″ and comes in a resolution of 2560 x 1440. I never had a problem with the display on the Yoga 2, even though because of the touchscreen, it can kind of be a fingerprint magnet.
The speakers are pretty good on the Yoga 2 13″, especially because they are JBL. They get pretty loud and they get pretty decent bass. Nothing TOO extreme, but it gets the job done if you like watching YouTube videos.
There isn’t anything special at all about this camera, which is expected at 1.6 megapixels. But if a quick video call is necessary, then by all means, it’s no turning point to buying this tablet. I still recommend this tablet to anyone who likes windows tablets.
The battery life is pretty amazing. I left it alone for a good few days and when I picked it back up, it was still at 75%. That isn’t bad at all. When I was using it constantly though, I saw barely any reduction in battery life throughout my usage. That might be due to the 12,800 mAh battery inside….
Th Yoga 2 13″ Tablet is a pretty good tablet. it can handle most anything you need it to. I didn’t experience any slow down while using this device and I would definitely recommend getting this. Again, it is a windows tablet. That means you have to like windows tablets in general to like this one.
