You’ve probably heard of ZTE. They’re that Chinese phone manufacturer that makes all those low-end budget Android phones at your local T-Mobile. The company makes solid phone, but since most are budget, they often get overlooked. Not anymore. ZTE today announced the Axon, a $450 Android smartphone that brings a ton of power and beauty for under $500, and it’s coming to the US soon.
Right off the bat the Axon packs a Snapdragon 810 paired with 4GB of RAM and Android 5.1. On top of that is a 5.5″ inch QHD display, a 3,000 mAh battery, and two rear cameras, 13MP and 2MP. The front camera is also 8MP. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and the entire device is made of aluminum in an assortment of colors including Phthalo Blue, Ion Gold, and Chromium.
The Axon also packs 32GB of storage and it’s compatible with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0. As far as carrier support is concerned, the Axon will be compatible with GSM networks so AT&T, T-Mobile, and their MVNOs here in the States.
The Axon will be available to buy unlocked soon here in the United States. For just $450, this phone looks like it’ll give the OnePlus 2 a serious run for it’s money.
