The Galaxy Note 5 isn’t far away and thanks to a few new leaks and reports, we now know more than ever before about the upcoming phablet. First of all, we have potential confirmation of an early launch for the new smartphone thanks to a report out of Korea. According to the report Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy Note 5 at an event in New York City on Thursday, August 13th. The reason for the early launch is allegedly to beat Apple to the punch in 2015’s phablet war.
Aside from the launch, a Polish reporter has picked up on something that Note 5 buyers will be excited about. As it turns out, the device will indeed support microSD cards. According to their report as well as leaked Sprint profiles, the Note 5 will be able to use SDXC microSD cards up to 128GB. While it still looks like the removable battery will not return, it does look like the capacity will be higher. According to the leak we may see a 4,100 mAh battery in the Note 5. I’m not putting a ton of faith in that, but I sure do hope it happens.
With the launch of the Galaxy Note 5 only a few weeks away, there’s little doubt we’ll learn even more about it soon. Are you planning to get the Note 5? Let us know in the comments below!
