Xiaomi 10,000 mAh Power Bank Review
We’ve all been in that situation. Out for a long day and boom, the phone dies. While we don’t necessarily need to use it anymore at that point, we might need it for a phone call. A charger might be far away, but in this situation a power bank is a very handy device to have on hand. There are thousands out there, but one I’ve been trying out lately is from Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi. You’ve undoubtedly heard of them from their work in smartphones, but their works in accessories is also notable. One of these products is their 10,000 mAh power bank which provides a lot for its minimal price.
The power bank is constructed with an aluminum body which looks and feels great. While this is a product you’ll like throw in your bag or pocket without much care to the design, the attention to detail is very nice. The look is very simple with a pill shape from the top view. The top and bottom of the product are white which is a nice contrast to the silver aluminum. The size is also ideal for throwing into your bag or even your pocket. It’s slim and light as well which I like.
On the bottom of the product is regulatory information and statistics while the top houses what you’ll actually care about. A single USB output port and a microUSB input port. That single output port can charge at 1A. While that’s not the 2A we’re used to, it’ll get the job done in a pinch.
Xiaomi is also 100% transparent in the fact that you won’t be able to use the full 10,000 mAh capacity of this battery when charging your device. Printed right at the bottom of the product is the usable capacity which is 6,250mAh. While that’s a bit disappointing, it’s true of just about every power bank, so I have to commend Xiaomi for being honest about it.
Pricing on this power bank is probably it’s biggest highlight. Normal retail pricing at outlets like Amazon is about $20-$25, but if you order through Gearbest you can get the product for just $12 and some change. If you ask me, that’s quite a steal. This is definitely a power bank I can recommend you pick up.
