Google has today revealed that in the latest Android Wear update, the LG G Watch R will be gaining support for WiFi. This means that you’ll be able to use your watch separate of your smartphone as long as it’s connected to a WiFi network. Most other Android Wear devices gained this functionality in the previous Android Wear update, but the LG G Watch R was not among them. However LG did confirm that it would get the update and today they have delivered on that promise.
This update will be rolling out over the next few weeks, so it may be a while until you can update your watch.Source: Android Developers
