This week Samsung has unveiled the G9198 Android flip phone. While here in the States we still find it bizarre to hear about a flip phone in 2015, but in China, where this phone will be sold, it’s not uncommon at all. We’ve seen several Android flip phones lately, but this one from Samsung looks pretty interesting in particular.
Packing not one but two 3.9″ 768×1280 (no that’s not backward) SuperAMOLED displays, a Snapdragon 808 processor, and the nostalgia filled T9 keypad, this phone should prove impressive when it launches in China later this month. It even carries over a few design elements from the Galaxy S6, and it actually looks really good! However, that isn’t the bigger highlight.
On the rear of this phone is a 16MP camera with an f/1.9 aperture. Sound familiar? That’s because the Samsung Galaxy S6 has the same camera specs. Whether or not this is the same exact sensor, we’re not sure, but it seems fairly likely. What do you think of this device? Would you pick it up if it launched in your region?
