If you’re an Android enthusiast, there’s no doubt you’ve heard of Koushik Dutta. The popular developer behind apps like AllCast has created many unique and useful apps and now he’s back with his latest project Vysor. This new application lets you control your Android device through your PC via the Google Chrome browser.
To get started, download the Vysor extension for Chrome and launch it. Then plug in your Android device via USB. If you’re on Windows, you’ll need the proper ADB drivers installed. From there the app will automatically detect your device and you’ll be able to control it from your computer. How could this be used? Well in a number of ways. It could be used to play games that are on Android on your computer, use apps on the desktop, and more. Most notably, this app could prove invaluable for developers.
For the time being, Vysor is still in development. In fact, we technically shouldn’t even know about it yet. However we do know thanks to a leaker over on Reddit. Even though Vysor wasn’t technically ready for the primetime, users have been reporting that it works fairly well. There are still some bugs, but overall it’s off to a good start.
