According to a report from CNET, Google will be announcing the 2015 Nexus lineup in a rare press event after a couple of years’ worth of settling for announcements via the company’s blog. The event will reportedly be held September 29, another rarity for Google as Nexus phones tend to be announced in late October/early November.
By way of review, the LG Nexus is rumored by GizmoChina to have a brand-spanking-new Snapdragon 620 and a 5.2-inch 1080p P-OLED display (LCD has been rumored elsewhere). Even in the more budget-oriented Nexus of the two, the traditional skimping on battery and camera seems to be at an end. The battery is rumored to be 3180 mAh and the rear camera will allegedly be a 13MP shooter with an f/1.8 aperture lens and laser autofocus.
Meanwhile, GizmoChina reports the more top-shelf Huawei Nexus will flaunt a 5.7-inch 1440p Super AMOLED display courtesy of Samsung along with a Snapdragon 810. The rear camera on the Huawei Nexus is rumored to be a 21MP shooter with an f/2.0 aperture while Droid Life pegs the battery at 3500 mAh.
Both phones are said to feature dual front-facing speakers and USB-C ports. We will (purportedly) learn which of these leaked specs are accurate just under four weeks from today.
