Who would have thought that in 2015 we’d all be excited over an upcoming release from Blackberry? I certainly didn’t. However that’s exactly what we’re all thinking with the Blackberry Venice on the horizon. Today Android Authority has gotten their hands on a few fresh images of the Venice which give us the best look yet at the hardware and a look at the UI on the device.
Clearly this device will be running Android (further backed up by the “Powered by Android” logo shown in the boot up image) and it appears that the skin on top won’t be all that heavy. Things actually appear to be running relatively close to stock with a handful of changes. The most notable change shown in these pictures is the addition of the extra “swipe up” actions seen flanking the Google Now shortcut. One of these appears to be a shortcut to an email/messaging app and the other to a quick search (likely what is shown in the second image). We also get another close look at the keyboard on the device. Overall, it’s pretty exciting stuff. A specific release date is still completely unknown for the Venice, but things are leaning toward November.Source: Android Authority
