Motorola’s DROID Turbo 2 is coming up fast, and today some more details and images of the device have hit the web. Most notably, we’ve got two new details, MotoMaker, and a release date. First off, let’s talk release date. According to Phandroid, the DROID Turbo 2 will be announced on October 15th and then released exclusively on Verizon on October 29th. The phone will also be available through MotoMaker (a first for a DROID-branded device). We all know what’s entailed with MotoMaker customization, but the real story here is what Motorola is offering if you order online. Motorola will be offering DROID Turbo 2 buyers a free, 1 time design replacement within 2 years of their purchase.
As far as customization options are concerned, it’s bit unclear exactly what we will see. It’s likely options will include some variant of the soft grip back seen on the Moto X Pure Edition and also the Ballystic Nylon we saw on last year’s DROID Turbo. Verizon may be also allowing customers to feel the various available materials in Verizon stores with a small area in stores dedicated to this.
In case you’re a bit behind on DROID Turbo 2 news, here’s what else is rumored so far.
- 5.43″ Quad-HD “Shatterproof” P-OLED display
- Snapdragon 810 Processor
- 32GB/64GB Internal Memory
- 3GB RAM
- 21MP Rear Camera/5MP Front Camera
- 3,760 mAh battery
- Wireless/Fast Charging Built In
Only time will tell if all this news does indeed come true, but if it does the DROID Turbo 2 is certainly going to be one of the better phones we’ve seen in 2015. Are you looking forward to it? Let us know in the comments below!
