USB C is the next big thing and we all know it. However for it’s early days, there’s going to be some hurdles to jump over. Most of those land with backwards compatibility. Older microUSB cables won’t work, and you’ll need a special cable to connect to the majority of PCs. In the case of the Nexus 5X, you’ll have one more hurdle to jump over, the included USB C cable won’t connect to the old USB Type A port (the one on your PC).
While the Nexus 6P contains both USB C to USB A and USB C to USB C, the Nexus 5X does not. Rather, you’ll need to buy one if you want to connect to older hardware. For standard charging however, you’ll be just fine as the charging adapter itself does have a USB C port. There are already many options out their for USB C cables, so you’ll undoubtedly find a good option. Even Google themselves sell them, but there are also plenty of options over on Amazon.Via: Android Police USB-C Cable Deals
