Here we go again. OnePlus has today launched a new campaign which allows owners of select Samsung smartphones to trade in their device for a brand new OnePlus Two. While that’s not too horrible an idea off the bat, it takes a turn for the worst when you see what phones are available. To take advantage of this deal you have to trade in a Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 5, or Galaxy S6 Edge+.
Now, let’s do the math. The OnePlus Two retails for just under $400 at $389 for the 64GB model. The Galaxy S6 retails for $585 for it’s base model. The S6 Edge adds to that at $714 for it’s base model. The Note 5 comes in at $739 and the S6 Edge+ taking the prize at a whopping $815 (All prices based on AT&T off contract pricing). To help things out a bit with the campaign, your phone would be donated to the Hope Phones charity to help someone in need.
Let’s just make this as clear as possible. Do not under any circumstances use this campaign. You are a complete fool if you do so. The OnePlus 2 is a decent phone, there’s no doubt about that, but if you trade your perfectly fine and working (and expensive) Samsung phone for it, you’re a fool (granted not as big as OnePlus for even thinking that this was a good idea). So, in the end, let’s chalk this one up as yet another mind-blowingly stupid campaign from OnePlus and wait for them to take it down.Source: OnePlus
