Last year’s DROID Turbo was a pretty popular device among Verizon users with its beautiful display and hefty battery. Of course, following this success Motorola and Verizon are planning on releasing a successor to the device, the DROID Turbo 2. The device has been rumored to be coming ever since Motorola announced their latest Moto X devices earlier this year. Now, today an event invite appears to be going out to some members of the press for an event scheduled for October 27th, later this month, that will take the curtain off of the “newest Droids.”
However, if you don’t wish to wait until the 27th to see what the upcoming DROID Turbo 2 looks like then don’t worry because you can see it now, kind of. Qmadix appears to have some accessories for the DROID Turbo 2 already listed on their website with pictures of the device and all. The accessories consist of a couple of cases as well some screen protectors for the upcoming device.
Taking a look at what is supposedly the DROID Turbo 2 dressed in a protective case, we can see that the device is largely similar to this year’s Moto X. There is only two real noticeable changes in the DROID Turbo 2, the rather odd speaker grill arrangement located on the bottom of the front of the device. It almost looks as if Motorola cut a portion out of the speaker grill in order to make room for the Verizon logo (let’s hope that wasn’t the case). Also, the dual cameras on the front of the device, yes really. We have no idea what Motorola is planning on doing with that but when a smartphone has dual cameras it’s usually not good.
