Update 10/23: Well it’s now truly official. After making a quick appearance a couple nights ago, the Priv is now available for pre-order from Blackberry. Pricing starts at $699 for the unlocked GSM variant. As previously known, the phone will only be compatible with T-Mobile and AT&T here in the States, but it’s entirely possible we’ll see it launch through Verizon and/or Sprint as well.
Pre-orders are open right now at the source link below and units will begin shipping November 6th. Several official cases are also available starting at $39.99.
Blackberry has tonight made the Blackberry Priv officially official. After months of leaks and a handful of official confirmations, the Priv is finally here. If you’re in the US, pre-orders are now open for the GSM unlocked model of the phone coming in with a $749 price tag. Pre-orders will ship starting November 16th and the phone will be compatible with both T-Mobile and AT&T as well as other GSM carriers here in the US. Edit: It seems that someone jumped the gun over at Blackberry. Pre-orders are not yet open but are expected to start this Friday (October 23rd).
Under the hood the Blackberry Priv will have a Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM. 32GB of internal storage is also included which is backed up by microSD support. The display on this phone comes in with a 5.4″ Quad-HD P-AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 4 on top. Like the Galaxy S6 Edge this display is also curved on both sides. The rear of the phone houses an 18MP camera with OIS included and a 2MP front facing camera.
Packed inside is also a 3,410 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 and also NFC. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is also found out of the box with Blackberry Hub (unified inbox) and Blackberry Calendar. The Blackberry Priv brings high-level security and promises “colossal” battery life. If you’re interested in pre-ordering, you can do so right now at the link below.Pre-Order From Blackberry
