Motorola has today announced that they will be testing out their own retail “boutique” in downtown Chicago. The “Moto Shop” will be a retail location which will allow customers to get hands on time with Motorola smartphones and smartwatches before they buy them through Motorola’s website. Inside customers will be able to check out the Moto X Pure Edition, Moto 360 (2nd gen), and the new DROID Turbo 2.
For the Moto X Pure Edition you’ll be able to check out the multiple backs and play with MotoMaker with all the options physically present right in front of you. The same applies to the Moto 360 (2nd gen). For the DROID Turbo 2 things get a bit more exciting. You’ll of course be able to play with the various back materials and MotoMaker, but since the Turbo 2 has the new Shattershield display, you’ll be able to do some drop testing. It appears that there will be an area made up of tile, cement, hardwood, and pavement where you’ll be able to see just how shatter-proof that display really is.
If you live in or near Chicago and want to check this out yourself, Motorola will open doors on November 7th with a grand opening celebration on November 14th. The shop is located 108 N. State St. (Suite 140 at Block 37) and it’ll be open 10 am to 8 pm Monday through Saturday and 11 am to 6 pm on Sunday.
