The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE has been cancelled. In an unexpected move LG has announced that they are completely stopping the roll-out of the device due to an unspecified hardware issue. They haven’t been specific of what the issue is or what it even relates to, but as of now it looks like this watch is dead before it’s arrival. LG released this news in a message to Android Police.
We understand that you are currently reviewing our latest smartwatch; however, late in the quality assurance process for the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE, our engineers were made aware of a hardware issue which affects the day-to-day functionality of the device. After further investigation, the decision was made to cancel the rollout of the Urbane 2nd Edition LTE due to the complicated nature of the issue. Whether the device will be available in the future will be decided at a later time. For now, our top priority is to ensure that only products that meet our very specific quality standards are available for purchase.
The Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE was going to be the first Android Wear smartwatch with LTE connectivity, multiple buttons for extra functionality, and an active speaker. It was also the first device running Android Wear 1.4 out of the box which was based on Marshmallow. Hopefully this watch will see a release sometime in the future, but as of now we simply don’t know.Source: Android Police
