Verizon isn’t exactly known for their updates, rather, it’s just the opposite. That said, Motorola has begun sending out soak test invites to DROID Turbo 2 users as of this morning. The only details we have right now is that it is “an early preview of a new software release”.
With this news coming just days after the Moto X Pure Edition getting it’s Marshmallow update it’s not too far of a jump to assume that this is probably Android Marshmallow. With a soak test for Marshmallow also rolling out to the Moto X Force, the international version of the DROID Turbo 2, it only adds to those hopes. That sad, there’s two reasons why it’s probably not Marshmallow.
First of all, this phone’s successor didn’t get updated all that quick. While normally I’ll give the benefit of the doubt, I don’t feel to confident in it this time around with. Second, Verizon is also in the process of rolling out Wifi Calling to their lineup, so that could be what’s included in this update. We’ll keep an eye out for further info when it’s available, but for now, do you think this is Marshmallow? Let us know in the comments!
