Project Fi is slowly growing as a mobile carrier and today it takes a big step forward in offering service for tablets. Starting today Project Fi customers will be able to request data only SIM cards free of charge. To request your card, head to your account management page at fi.google.com or through the official Project Fi app.
Data only SIM cards on Fi pull data from the same budget as your Fi smartphone. Pricing is unaffected remaining at $10/month per GB. For now these SIM cards are limited only to existing Fi subscribers and only the following devices are approved for use:
- Nexus 7 – K009 (US LTE)
- Nexus 9 – 0P82300 (US LTE)
- iPad Air 2 – Model A1567
- iPad mini 4 – Model A1550
- Galaxy Tab S – Model SM-T807V
Google does mention that devices which are unlocked and compatible with T-Mobile but only the previously mentioned are guaranteed to work. You can add up to 9 data-only devices to your line as well. Will you be getting one of these SIMs for your device?Source: Project Fi Via: Scott Greenstone
