Smaller smartphones are tough to come by now-a-days but every once in a while there’s a gem in the pile. Bluboo’s new X9 brings Android 5.1, a fingerprint sensor, 4G LTE, and some pretty solid specs all in a compact 5″ form factor. this device has a metal frame in either silver or gold which goes well with the matte black rear.
The fingerprint sensor lies beneath the 13MP rear camera and promises to unlock the device in just a half second. Simply touch the sensor and the device will wake up and be ready for use, just like Google’s new Nexus smartphones. The Bluboo X9 also brings 3GB of RAM, a MTK6753 64bit Octa Core processor, and 16GB of storage (expandable via microSD). As previously mentioned there’s a 13MP rear camera and also a 5MP front facing shooter.
Out of the box this device runs Android 5.1 and the build appears to be near stock. Obviously there’s a few tweaks to the software including the ability to draw on the screen while it’s off to perform different actions. However overall this is a near stock experience. The Bluboo X9 is up for pre-sale from Gearbest right now for just $149. The device is designed for use in the Chinese market, but you can easily have it shipped anywhere you want. Will you pick it up?
