Battery life has been one of the biggest sore points for 2015 smartphones. With many only lasting a day, one can’t help but think of the days when we could go days upon days without charging our smartphones. Sadly, those days are over, or are they? Recently a Chinese manufacturer by the name of OUKITEL has launched the K1000, an Android 5.1 smartphone with an enormous 10,000 mAh battery built inside.
This is in fact the largest battery ever found inside of a smartphone and with that massive capacity OUKITEL claims 10 – 15 days of normal use. While I air towards the side of caution on that claim, I have no doubt that this phone will last at least 4 or 5 days on a charge.
Luckily charging is also not a big issue as the device does support “flash charge” which charges at a steady current of around 3A. That charges the device in about 3.5 hours. You can even use a special cable to charge another phone with the K10000.
Below is a list of other specifications on the OUKITEL K10000:
- 5.5″ IPS Display – 1280×720
- Android 5.1 Lollipop
- MTK6735 64bit Quad Core 1.0GHz
- 16GB Storage (microSD expandable)
- 2GB RAM
- 8MP Rear Camera/2MP Front Camera
At $239, this is not a bad value for a smartphone, however we can help out a bit more. We’ve worked with Gearbest to provide another $40 off the cost of this device bringing the price down to just $199. Simply pick up the device here and then use the coupon code K10000 at checkout to apply the discount. Will you be picking up this device? Let us know in the comments below!
