Before their 2015 releases, Alcatel OneTouch wasn’t a very well known brand. The Idol 3 smartphones caught just about everyone’s attention and for good reason! They helped redefine how good an affordable smartphone could be, but what’s next? In a recently published benchmark we get our first look at what seems to be the specifications for the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 4 and from the looks of it, the company will deliver once again.
The benchmark lists an Adreno 510 SoC as part of an octa-core chip. That points directly toward the Snapdragon 652 processor which promises much better performance than previous chips such as the 617 or even the 615 which was found in the original Idol 3.
Aside from that it seems that this new device will bring 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (presumably with microSD expansion available) and the same 5.5″ 1080p display from last year. One notable change is the new camera setup which upgrades the rear camera from 13MP to 16MP and keeps the front facer at 8MP. We don’t know much about the Idol 4 regarding variants or pricing, but we can expect to hear more in the coming weeks, especially with CES right around the corner.
