Honor 5x Launched In The US For $199 Unlocked

If you’re after an all-metal smartphone for a super low price, you’re not going to need much farther than Huawei’s Honor 5x. This $199 unlocked Android smartphone brings an all-metal body, 5.5″ 1080p display, and fairly respectable specifications, considering the price.

Under the hood you’ll find the Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (backed up by microSD), and Android 5.1 Lollipop with EMUI 3.1 on top. There’s a fingerprint sensor on the back which is very quick and there’s a large 3,000 mAh battery sealed inside. Around back you’ll also find a 13MP camera with Huawei’s SmartImage 3.0 sensor to improve low-light performance and also a 5MP front facing sensor. The Honor 5x includes dual-SIM connectivity in the US on T-Mobile or AT&T.

The Honor 5x will be available in the United States starting January 31st for $199 unlocked through Honor themselves, Amazon, or Newegg. Pre-orders kick off on January 6th through all three outlets.
