If the 2014 Verizon Moto X is the device you use everyday, you might be happy to learn that Motorola has just enabled bootloader unlock for it. A Motorola Forums Manager released the news earlier today letting everyone know that they had gotten the go-ahead to start unlocking the device.
Just wanted to let you know that we did get the green light to unlock the bootloader on Verizon 2014 Moto X (2nd Gen) devices. Unfortunately, we can’t do this for devices on other carriers.
While it’s a bit sad to see that other carriers won’t be getting the same privilege anytime soon, it’s good to know that Verizon users will now be able to easily install third-party ROMs and more. Just keep in mind that doing so will void your warranty. If you’d like to unlock your bootloader, head to the source link below to start the process.
