2016 is finally upon us and that means we that we have a whole year of great new smartphones ahead of us. One of the best things about this is that there is no way of telling what all of these great upcoming new smartphones will hold. Although, there is one thing that we can almost certainly assure you that virtually every smartphone released this year will have, a fingerprint reader.
In 2015, fingerprint readers became a mainstream feature in the smartphone world. Not only did fingerprint readers become more prevalent with smartphones, but they also got significantly better in 2015. Just use the fingerprint reader on an iPhone 6S or Nexus 6P and you will see exactly what I’m talking about. The phone unlocks the first time just about every time and this happens almost instantly, making using a fingerprint reader a joy. But if you take a look at all of the smartphones with fingerprint readers released in 2015, you’ll notice that they are in a few different locations depending on which device you’re looking at. For instance, on the iPhone it’s located on the front of the device, built right into the home button, but on the Nexus 6P it’s located on the back of the device. Then there are devices such as Sony’s Xperia smartphones which have a fingerprint reader built into the power button on the side of the device.
So, now that it’s 2016 and the next smartphone you purchase will likely have a fingerprint reader, where would you prefer that be located on the phone? On the front of the device? Maybe the back? The side even? Let us know in the comments below and in the poll!
