Just yesterday Sony announced that the Xperia Z5 and the Z5 Compact would finally make a debut in the United States, but today we learn that there’s a catch. While the specs and design will be the same as international variants, the US variant will not have a fingerprint sensor. On International versions Sony added the fingerprint sensor into the power button and while the US variant has the same power button design, there simply will not be a sensor included.
Android Police reached out to Sony to get confirmation and the company said it was “simply a business decision”. The Xperia Z5 and the Z5 Compact will go up for sale starting February 7th in the US for $599 and $499 respectively. With this news, are you still interested in picking up Sony’s latest flagship?
