It was just over a week ago that the new Honor 5X smartphone was announced for the US and now we’re learning a bit more about how Huawei will be supporting the device. Not only will the Honor 5X get an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but it will also get the new EMUI 4 and also regular security patches. Not bad for a phone that costs just $199.

The first OTA will come straight out of the box when the 5X begins shipping to buyers on January 31st.

In case you missed it, the Honor 5X rocks a 5.5″ 1080p display along with the Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, all wrapped within an all-metal body. The device is up for pre-order in the United States right now priced at $199. Are you interested in picking it up? Let us know in the comments below! Lastly, stay tuned as we’ll have a full review of the 5X up on our website later this month!
