LG G5 Case Leaks Once Again Show Off The Design

The LG G5 is just a few short weeks away and tonight a new batch of images have leaked via Amazon. Case maker Diztronic has posted their first LG G5 case which has a clear rear panel which helps us get another glimpse at the design.

As we’ve seen in previous leaks, it seems that LG is going with a much more minimal design this year with dual cameras, a fingerprint sensor, and no rear buttons, something that has become a staple for the company in recent years.

Something I noticed from this images, and don’t go holding me to this, is that there appears to be no power button on the phone. Of course this could just be an error with the render, but it would be quite interesting in LG decided to switch up how the power button is implemented on the G5.

Speculation
Assuming the LG G5 is indeed ditching a physical power button, I’d have to guess that they are planning to implement it into the rear fingerprint sensor. Like the LG V10 the G5 could have a power button that doubles as a fingerprint sensor. With the combination of double tap to wake on the screen and the power buttons being moved to the side, this design could be the perfect combination of a standard smartphone design and LG’s classic power rear button implementation. I must remind you however that I’m completely guessing there.

Another detail shown is the shipping date of March 28th which could hint at a release date of mid to late March.

LG is confirmed to launch the LG G5 just ahead of MWC 2016 on February 21st. Are you excited for this phone? Let us know in the comments below!
