You Can Now Order An Uber From Your Amazon Echo

Have you ever see a pairing of technology and asked yourself, “Why has this not existed until now?” Well that’s exactly what I did just a few moments ago when I heard that the Amazon Echo can now order an Uber for you.

Using Uber’s APIs and the Echo’s always listening capabilities you can now get a ride with nothing more than a voice command. Simple say something like “Alexa, ask Uber to request a ride” and you’ll have a ride on the way.

To activate this on your Amazon Echo, head into the companion app on your smartphone and first ensure that your location is set correctly (unless you want Alexa sending drivers to other people). After that head into the “skills” section and connect your Uber account.

Uber is even offering a special deal to celebrate this new addition with $15 off your first ride with the promo code 15Alexa.

This news comes just a day after the Echo added another huge feature, Spotify support. Makes you wonder, what’s next?
