Verizon has never been quick with updates, even on their own DROID lineup. That was proven to us again with the original DROID Turbo which took months to get updated to Lollipop. However now the DROID Turbo 2 is picking up the slack just a bit with an update to Android Marshmallow.

The update, which is rolling out now, includes the usual Marshmallow goodies such as Doze, Google Now on Tap, App Permissions, and more. Since the DROID Turbo 2 also packs a microSD card slot, it can even take advantage of adoptable storage within this latest OS.

Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a new software update for your Droid Turbo 2. Android™ 6.0 Marshmallow improves your mobile experience with new battery-smart features and enhanced app permissions that give you even more control.

The OTA is currently rolling out to users and should be available within the next few days.

Update 2/15: Verizon has since taken down documentation regarding this update, suggesting a delay in the official rollout.
