2013 DROID Line Won’t Get Lollipop After All, Motorola Offering $100 Discounts On A Newer Model

After promising to update the DROID Maxx/Ultra/Mini to Android Lollipop, Motorola is now taking it back, announcing the end of support for those devices. These 2013 devices, while not top of the line in terms of specs by any means, are more than capable of running the updated version, but sadly they won’t be getting it (at least officially).

To ease the pain, a little, Motorola is offering owners of this device discounts on newer hardware. Users will be able to take $100 off the price of a brand new DROID Turbo 2 or $50 off the price of a DROID Maxx 2. This takes the prices down to $524 and $334 respectively.

This offer is valid to any US resident who owns the device although you will need to take advantage of the deal before 5/9/2016. To check it out, head over to the promo page here and enter in the required information.
