Amazon Has Increased The Minimum Spend For Free Shipping For Non-Prime Members

Amazon is service that many of us use day in and day out. While a Prime membership does end up paying for itself pretty quickly for most users, many haven’t taken the plunge. One big reason for that is that Amazon has always implemented free shipping for orders over a certain price point. At first it was $25, then it was bumped up to $35, however now it has been increased yet again.

Starting now you’ll need to spend at least $49 to have the option to get free shipping. However the speed has also changed.

While the company used to offer 3-5 day shipping for free, now they are only offering 5-8 day shipping for free. An exact reason for this is unknown, but it’s likely to cover rising shipping and logistics costs. It could also simply be to make the yearly Prime subscription all that more enticing.
