Google is notorious for keeping it’s latest products only in the US, but it’s still surprising how little they’ve shared Android Pay with the rest of the world. After the launch of rival service Apple Pay in the UK, many Android users from the UK have been dying to get their hands on NFC payments and thankfully, it may finally be around the corner.
The Telegraph reports that Google is currently in the final stages of preparing the service for a debut in Britain with a launch coming towards the end of March.
Considering the fact that Android dominates the UK smartphone market and the widely available contactless payment terminals in shops across the country, it’s a wonder why Google didn’t launch the service sooner. Of course part of this could be due to issues with working with banks, but regardless at least there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
Samsung Pay is also confirmed to be coming to the UK “soon”, although we don’t know exactly when that will be.
