A couple weeks has passed since Samsung officially started the rollout of Android Marshmallow to the Note 5, however it has yet to make its debut in the United States, until today however. Today Verizon (no you aren’t reading this wrong), is kicking off the rollout of Marshmallow to the Note 5.
This marks Verizon as the first US carrier to release this update for the Galaxy Note 5, surprising no? Even the Galaxy S6 family is still waiting on this same update, even though it was released to those devices first.
As usual, this update brings great additions such as Google Now on Tap, Doze, and app permissions. Samsung/Verizon specific additions include improvements to Live Broadcasting, Wi-Fi calling, and more. The update even removes a little bit of bloatware by trashing the Amazon Appstore.
The update will be rolling out as an OTA over the next few days, however if you want to check for yourself, you can do so by heading into Settings, then About Device, and Software updates.Source: Verizon
