Spigen USB C Rapid Car Charger Review

Simple, speedy, steal

With the launch of USB C equipped devices such as the Nexus 6P and Lumia 950, we’re all on the hunt for new accessories. Lately one I’ve been testing out is a USB C car charger from Spigen. This car charger packs a single 3ft cable that can charge any USB C device (including the 12″ Macbook and Chromebook Pixel) at a full 3A, which charges something like the Nexus 6P in just a couple of hours.

I really enjoyed using the charger on the go when my phone needed a fill-up as I could easily get 30%-45% of extra power into the phone in just a short drive. To make things even better, the charger includes a full size USB A port for other devices that can charge them at up to 2.4A.

The charger itself features an aluminum build around the edges of the charging “brick” and also features metal around the USB C connector. The plug on the charger is made from a soft touch material that definitely picks up a lot dust, but it is easy to clean if need be.

Do keep in mind, this will only work with devices that charge over USB C at 3A. It will not work with devices that also use Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, such as the LG G5.

Overall, this is a solid charger, especially for the price. At $14.99, this is a heck of a deal as there aren’t a ton of good rapid charging car chargers out there right now. If you’re interested in picking one up, click here or at the link below.
