The Nextbit Robin is an interesting device to say the least and it has received plenty of good attention as a solid unlocked Android smartphone. Today the Robin picks up its first major software update, bringing it up to date on the latest Android version, latest security patch, and also delivering numerous software and performance enhancements.
This new update, rolling out now, brings the Nextbit Robin up to Android version 6.0.1 and also includes the April Android Security patch along with over 200 new emoji. Nextbit claims the update will pack improved battery life and performance, as well as some much-needed improvements to the loading of the camera as well as the actual image quality.
Nextbit has also placed a focus on audio performance, adding audio tuning software from Arkamys for better audio through the speakers or headphone jack. The company has also partnered with AIAIAI to offer the TMA-2 over-ear headphones direct from their website (of course with a “mint” audio cable to match the Robin’s signature color.
Adding to that, the company has also “officially” debuted the Robin on Amazon (although it has been live for several days now).
