ZTE has today announced their latest flagship smartphone, the Axon 7. Following up on last year’s Axon, the Axon 7 offers a premium all metal casing with curves surrounding the edges and a design made in part with BMW’s DesignWorks. Both silver and gold models will be available, but first lets look at specs.
The display comes in at 5.5″ and uses AMOLED technology with a 2560×1440 resolution. That display was also built in mind with Google’s new Daydream VR standard in mind and the company will be launching their own VR headset alongside the device.
Front facing speakers also flank the display on the top and bottom providing stereo sound. However to further improve the audio, ZTE will also be including dedicated AKM HiFi audio chipsets along with Dolby Atmos in the software to help provide far better audio quality.
Under the hood you’ll find a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a microSD slot, and a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. That model will run just $450 for the unlocked model, which is a pretty sweet deal, but if you want a bit more, there’s an upgraded model. It offers 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a pressure sensitive display. That’s awesome, but the extra specs will cost you, $640 to be exact.
ZTE has not announced release information fro the Axon 7, but we do know that it will release through ZTE’s online store, Amazon, Best Buy, and other online retailers. The device will also come with a two year warranty.
ZTE, a leading global mobile device maker, officially unveiled its latest flagship device, the AXON 7, at the Park Hyatt in Beijing today. During the launch, it was also announced that Lang Lang, a world renowned pianist, will be the brand ambassador to ZTE’s high-end flagship AXON smartphone series. The device will first be launched in China, with international launches including the United States, Europe, and other regions to follow shortly after. The AXON 7 was designed for people to enjoy a smart lifestyle enhanced by technology, focusing on what matters most to users today; immersive theater-like sound, eye catching design, and a high quality camera, all in the palm of one’s hand.
