Earlier this year Lenovo debuted the new Thinkpad 13 laptop at CES 2016 in both Windows 10 and Chrome OS variants. While the Windows variant has been available for quite some time, the Chrome OS version has been waiting for its official debut. Starting today, Lenovo has made the Chrome OS version of the ThinkPad 13 available for purchase.
The 13.3″ laptop starts at $429 with a 1366×768 display, Intel Celeron processor, 4GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. Other variants will be available with i3 and i5 processors, 1080p displays (touchscreen as well), and up to 8GB of RAM and up to 32GB of storage for an extra $200 or more.
As for ports, the ThinkPad 13 Chromebook with pack two USB 3.0 ports as well as two USB C ports, one of which will act as the charging port. Lenovo is also claiming an impressive 10 hours of battery life on this model, something we’ll be glad to test out once we can get our hands on it. Sadly the silver variant available on the Windows variant won’t be making its way to this version, but the same military spec durability ratings will stick around.
Shipping will kick off in about 4-5 weeks with the base model currently available with a discount at just $386. If you’re interested, check it out over on Lenovo’s website at the source link below.
