5 months after the official announcement, Alcatel has today finally put the IDOL 4S up for pre-order on their website. Shipping will kick off August 3rd when the price of the phone will also increase $50 to $399. Financing will also be available for $37/month, though the financing term has not been announced.
Alcatel’s IDOL 4S packs a 5.5″ Quad HD AMOLED display, Snapdragon 652 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 3,000 mAh battery with Quick Charging. Unlike last year’s Alcatel Idol 3, the IDOL 4S uses a premium metal/glass design and also packs a fingerprint sensor on the rear.
Out of the box the IDOL 4S will run a lightly-skinned version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the company has confirmed a future update to Android 7.0. The packaging also doubles as a VR headset.
With mid-range specifications we were hoping the IDOL 4S would be slightly cheaper, especially considering the recently announced OnePlus 3 offers flagship specs for just an extra $50. Regardless, if you’re interested in pre-ordering the IDOL 4S, hit up the source link below.
