Ahead of its rumored announcement at IFA, the upcoming ASUS ZenWatch 3 has leaked in a handful of new images. Unlike ASUS’ previous Android Wear devices, the ZenWatch 3 brings a new circular display in place of the previous rounded rectangular design.
Just like the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition, the ZenWatch 3 looks to have 3 buttons on the right side which are likely customizable to some degree.
These images also reveal that this design won’t have a flat tire on the bottom portion of the display and will also have removable straps, something we’re always glad to see. These straps, however, do appear to use either a proprietary connector or some sort of unique housing for the pin connection. A proprietary connection would be unfortunate, unless of course, ASUS has opted to offer an LTE model.
The charger is also shown in these images, and the lack of pins is one thing that’s worth noting. It’s unlikely that this is a wireless charging charger, but rather using some other type of charging method.
ASUS is rumored to launch this new smartwatch at IFA later this month, so we’ll just have to wait and see what the company has in store for us. Fingers crossed it’ll retain the same affordable cost as the ZenWatch 2.
