Lenovo Launches YOGA 910 With Ultra-Thin Design, Fingerprint Sensor, Miix 510 With 2-in-1 All-Metal Design

Just ahead of IFA 2016, Lenovo has just announced two new Windows 10 machines, the YOGA 910 and Miix 510. Both of these machines succeed previous models with improved specs, designs, and new added features.

Lenovo YOGA 910

The first of these two machines is the YOGA 910, a refresh of the excellent YOGA 900 from last year. This new laptop further pushes the boundaries of how thin a powerful laptop can be, coming in at just 14.3mm thin with Intel’s 7th generation Core i7 processor under the hood. Just like other YOGA models, the 910 features a convertible design with the popular watchband hinge. Along with that, the 910 also features a smaller overall design with thinner bezels around the display and a fingerprint sensor below the full-size keyboard.

The 13.9″ display is available both in 1080p and 4K options, both offering 100% sRGB color gamut coverage for viewing a wide range of colors when viewing photos and videos. Lenovo also claims 15.5 hours of battery life out of this machine with charging available over USB Type-C.

“We’re moving from a PC market where one size fits all to one of multiple sizes and fits. Consumers want to be able to choose the form factor that best meets their lifestyle needs, not adapt their lifestyle to new technology,” said Johnson Jia, Lenovo’s senior vice president, PC & Smart Device Business Group. “And the Yoga range will continue to drive PC innovation forward. But we can’t take all the credit – we thank our customers for their continuous feedback. These products are here because of our customers and we hope the new Yoga 910 will meet their expectations.”

Lenovo will be offering the YOGA 910 starting in October starting at $1299.

BERLIN, Germany – Aug 31, 2016 – Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) today announced the expansion of its multimode Yoga family with the new Yoga 910 convertible laptop and Yoga Tab 3 Plus Android tablet. Today’s PC customer is constantly challenged by the demands of quickly evolving consumer lifestyles, an evolving workplace, and digital demands. To meet this continuous shift of consumer expectations, Lenovo has built its latest Yoga products based on extensive user research and feedback. That’s why each new Yoga range adds new technology, like the Yoga 910 fingerprint reader that simplifies PC log-in.

Yoga 910 is World’s Thinnest Intel Core i Convertible1 with More Power and Convenience than Ever Before

Our latest ultra-thin convertible laptop at just 14.3mm is also one of the most powerful convertibles around with up to Intel’s latest 7th Gen Core i7 processor. For many Yoga users, their convertible has become the primary platform for work and entertainment. That’s why we’ve upgraded the Yoga 910 with a choice of a new 4K or Full HD screen, near edgeless display (5mm bezel) that offers 10 percent4 more screen area, a 14 percent5 increase in pixel density compared to the previous model for sharper, clearer images and 100 percent sRGB color gamut coverage for users to see a wide range of colors when viewing photos and videos. Music and sound are enhanced on the Yoga 910 with Dolby Audio™ Premium. With up to 15.5 hours of battery, users can work or watch movies without worrying about battery life. 4

As customers demand more convenient authentication options, Lenovo has embedded an advanced fingerprint reader into the Yoga 910 – designed to bring mobile convenience and improved security to the PC. With the touch of a finger, users can quickly log onto their PC using Windows Hello™ without needing long passwords again. Lenovo App Explorer on the Yoga 910 also lets users personalize with popular apps that they want, like Skype®, Facebook® or Netflix®.

As PCs are being carried around all day by users, we’ve added a new all-metal unibody casing – in Champagne Gold, Platinum Silver and Gunmetal – for a luxurious look no matter where users take it. It maintains the Yoga convertible series’ signature watchband hinge and flexible usage modes – enabling users to type in laptop mode, present in stand mode, watch videos in tent mode or browse in tablet mode. The watchband hinge now provides an even smoother, more accurate transition between its modes. Paired with the sleek Yoga mouse (sold separately) that doubles as a remote control, the Yoga 910 puts high-end performance, portability, and versatility into a thin and stylish 13.9-inch convertible laptop.

Lenovo Miix 510

Along with the YOGA 910, Lenovo is also introducing the new Miix 510. This new 2-in-1 Windows machine combines the fun of a tablet with the productivity of a laptop with an attachable keyboard. This form factor, of course, is nothing new for Lenovo. This latest machine does improve on the form factor though by introducing a metal design, watchband hinge, and the power of specs up to a 6th gen Intel Core i7 processor.

The Miix 510 brings a 12.2″ display, included keyboard, up to a 1TB SSD, optional LTE, Windows 10, 7.5 hours of battery life on a charge, and the flexibility of multiple ports along the side, including USB C.

If you spend lots of time on tablet-based apps like YouTube™, Facebook™ or Instagram® versus typical office applications like word processing or email – but you still want the ability to do all of that – then you need a device as flexible as you are. Meet our new Miix 510, announced today at IFA. It’s our latest Windows detachable that gives you a keyboard when you want it and the freedom to leave it behind when you’re on the go.

The Miix 510 gives you the format and functionality of a tablet first, but with the comfort and convenience of having a full-size, fully functioning keyboard. With the laptop power of up to 6th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 processor to create content, the Miix 510 detaches from its keyboard, turning into a stand-alone tablet for online entertainment. Use it as a presentation device, an e-reader or a work laptop. The Miix 510 is versatile enough to carry you from day to night with up to 7.5 hours of battery life.

Just like the YOGA 910, the Miix 510 will be available starting in October. Pricing starts at $599 direct from Lenovo.

Deciding Between a Laptop or Tablet? Mix it up with Lenovo’s New Detachable

Latest Miix 510 Windows® Detachable Debuts at IFA

Typically the first question considered when choosing a new computer is “what do you use it for?” You then reel off a list of requirements: using it for work, posting to social media, storing and editing photos, watching digital content and general webbrowsing. Almost any PC these days will get you those basic functions. A better question you should ask yourself is: “how long do you spend doing each of those things?”

Spend the majority of your time on work? Then go for a laptop. Spend most of it browsing the web or watching movies? A tablet would work. Realize you use it for all of those at different times? Then a Miix detachable may be right for you.

What do you get from the Miix 510?

  • Refined design elements: Its metallic looks impress from the get-go, and closer inspection reveals some outstanding design features: most notably our iconic dual watchband hinge, with its intricately tooled 280 individual pieces of stainless steel that give the integrated kickstand 150-degree angle adjustment so it’s always comfortable to use, no matter placed on the table or on your lap.
  • Tools to stay productive: Heavy on the operating system but light on weight, the Miix 510 has the full version of Windows 10, designed for handling the same tasks as a laptop – word processing, data input and analysis, editing and design. Combined with a full size touch screen and backlit keyboard or pen with new Windows Ink™, you can take notes, sketch, draw and create in any way you want. As a comfortable typing experience is essential to productivity, we’ve also improved the keyboard with increased key travel and keystroke for a more tactile response and natural typing experience.
  • …Or to relax: Whether you’re relaxing by browsing the web, reading a book, watching a film, or on social media, then the 12.2- inch screen, touch capabilities and flexibility will let you use it at any angle or orientation. And with up to 1TB2 of PCIe SSD (solid-state drive) storage, you can save your favorite films and shows to take on the move.
  • Connectivity Options: Beyond Wi-Fi and Bluetooth®, the Miix 510 includes optional LTE – so you can use a mobile network3 when you don’t have Wi-Fi You can even use it to charge your smartphone without worrying about finding a power outlet.
  • Portable and Packable: If you’re likely to travel with a charger, other devices, paperwork kit, the Miix 510’s drop in weight to 880g (without the keyboard) makes all the difference in carrying your load. While it’s light, it’s also the right size to get work done. While you can do a lot on a smartphone and some tablets, they’re not designed for programs like presentations, spreadsheets or even long emails. Sometimes a mouse and keyboard is still what you need to pound out that essay. And that’s the beauty of a detachable.
