Verizon Wireless is one of the best carriers in the US when you’re looking at reliability. Being one of the biggest carriers, there are a lot of phones to choose from. If you want to make sure you have a great phone while with Verizon, these are some of our favorites. They work great and have performed at the top in the past year.

Top Performer: The Google Pixel

The Pixel got a lot of hype this year, as it should’ve. It’s a great phone and does really well under every circumstance. Battery life is good and the screen is phenomenal. With the Pixel, you do have a few tricks to look forward to. For instance, Google Assistant is a personal addition and is something really cool to have.

Verizon sells the Pixel at $649.99 and the Pixel XL for $769.99. Monthly pricing starts at $27 per month.

Runner-Up: The LG V20

This phone is amazing. With a second display, amazing camera, and incredible DAC for audio, this phone is built for anyone. It lasts a long time on a charge and overall doesn’t get run down. I believe anybody would be happy with this phone.

The LG V20 can be found on Verizon for $672.00. Monthly pricing starts at $28 per month.

The Water Resistant: Samsung Galaxy S7/Galaxy S7 Edge

If you’re looking for something equally fantastic but with water resistance, the Galaxy S7 might warrant your attention. Packed with water resistance, top-tier specifications, excellent cameras, and Samsung’s dozens of software tricks, the Galaxy S7 family is an excellent choice. The standard S7 has a 5.1-inch display where the larger S7 Edge offers a 5.5-inch display. Both bring glass designs, so you might want to pick up a case along with it.

Pricing for the Galaxy S7 on Verizon lands at $28 per month, or $672 outright. Alternatively, the Galaxy S7 Edge costs $33 a month on Verizon or $792 outright.

The Best Of iOS: iPhone 7/iPhone 7 Plus

If you’re looking for an option in Apple’s ecosystem, the choice is pretty obvious — the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Apple’s latest hardware brings a lot to the table, and Verizon has both options available in stores and online. The smaller iPhone 7 and the larger iPhone 7 Plus offer top-of-the-line performance, great cameras, good battery life, and a water resistant device, all encased in fantastic hardware. A downside for many buyers might be the lack of a headphone jack, but an adapter is included in the box.

The iPhone 7 costs $27.08 per month on Verizon while the iPhone 7 Plus costs $32.08 a month. Full retail pricing lands at $649 and $769 respectively.

Best On A Budget: The Moto G4 Play

Budget phones tend to be a little shaky when it comes to performance and general use. That isn’t the case with the G4 play. Even though this phone is cheap, it handles itself really well and is worth a look at if you don’t want to spend a ton of money.

Verizon sells the G4 Play for $84.99 (as of the writing of this post) for prepaid. You can check it out here.
