These are the smartwatches that will get Android Wear 2.0

Things have been quiet lately in the Android Wear world. However, it has been confirmed that early next year Google will be releasing two Android Wear watches. Along with that, we also have a list confirming which watches will be receiving Android Wear 2.0.

While many wear devices will get the update, Google did note that not every single device will receive 2.0. They also continued to also note that certain features like Android Pay require specific hardware and may not be compatible with devices that don’t have the hardware to support that feature.

Here’s the full list of devices that will receive the Android Wear 2.0 update:

  • Moto 360 Gen 2
  • Moto 360 Sport
  • LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE
  • LG Watch Urbane
  • LG G Watch R
  • Polar M600
  • Casio Smart Outdoor Watch
  • Nixon Mission
  • Tag Heuer Connected
  • Fossil Q Wander
  • Fossil Q Marshal
  • Fossil Q Founder
  • Michael Kors Access Bradshaw Smartwatch
  • Michael Kors Access Dylan Smartwatch
  • Huawei Watch
  • Huawei Watch Ladies
  • Asus ZenWatch 2
  • Asus ZenWatch 3

Unfortunately, most first-generation devices such as the Moto 360 and the LG G Watch are not included with the 18 watches on the list, so if you have one of the older devices you may want to consider upgrading so that you will be able to use Android Wear 2.0. If you haven’t seen what Android Wear 2.0 will look like be sure to check out our hands-on preview with the developer version from a few months ago.

Why no Samsung gear live? I Understand moto360 with the old SoC, and g watch because of no button, but the Samsung has all the hardware needed! Planned obsolescence? Might as well load the ROM myself.
