Asus officially announces the Chromebook Flip C302 at $499

The Chromebook Flip was pretty popular, and today, ASUS has announced that they’re continuing the product line with the exciting new Chromebook Flip 2. Becuase Android apps are making their way to Chromebooks, a new addition to the Chromebook family is welcome.

The Chromebook Flip 2, or C302, has surfaced every now and then but never confirmed. This week at CES 2017, ASUS officially announced the Chromebook Flip C302. Taking similar designs concepts from the previous Chromebook, the new Flip 2 looks fantastic. It has a 360-degree hinge and a touchscreen for easier use.

The display comes in at 12.5″ and runs at 1080p. The processor is a Core m3 with 4GB of RAM and three storage options. You can grab it in 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of storage which is incredible for a Chromebook. Something that’s extremely welcome is the presence of two USB Type-C ports. It also packs a backlit keyboard and a MicroSD card slot. All of these features are an extremely nice thing to see on a Chromebook.

With a cool 10 hours of battery life, the Flip C302 looks like a promising option for anyone who has a soft spot for Chromebooks. It may even be the one to change anybody’s mind about Chromebooks with such an awesome storage option and connectivity options up-to-date with today’s standards.

The price is one of the most important things to consider. With everything this Chromebook offers, $499 is a good price. Let us know what you think in the comments below.

  • I love my old Samsung 5 series Chromebook most of the time. It’s great as long as you’re not dealing with big spreadsheets. Would love a touchscreen with this sort of form factor, but my old Samsung refuses to die despite multiple drops over the years.
